Wishes

It was a beautiful summer night, the sky was ablaze with stars.
She sat by the quiet running stream gazing steadily into the sky.
Hoping to see a running-star go by so she could make her wish.

As this little girl we all do wish for things ether physical or nonphysical.
as we grow older some of our wishes grow with us into dreams, aspirations.
For these dreams we strive and perspire hoping to make reality of them.

The attainment of dreams and the fulfillment of hope are two different things
No wonder some become disillusioned after attaining their dream without achieving their hope.

Tonight she looked up to the sky with a smile of contentment…
She has no wish cause her wish has been met…
Daddy is home!

Today I wish you joy…
I wish you peace
I wish you success in attaining your dream .
Above all I wish you love and contentment which hope brings.
All these I also wish myself

Paradoxical Race

I’m an observer witnessing a very strange phenomenon…
A race that exist in a paradoxical world
They are the most intelligent and the most stupid of all creatures I’ve observed.
They cry for peace, give them peace they convert it to problem.
They affirm an idea in their speech, but denounce that very idea in their action.
They are the weakest and at thesame time the strongest of all creatures
They work hard to build a civilization, and then destroy that very civilization themselves.
Some claim there is no God, but lack the infinite knowledge needed to support such claim.
They are very beautiful at their best but very ugly and repugnant at their worst.
Creatures that are so simple and wonderful but make things so complex for themselves.

This is the human race
To this race I the observer belongs…
Hmm…. what a paradoxical race.

My Mother

Have you seen her?
have you heard the whispering of her lovely voice laden with wisdom?
Have you ever looked into those lovely eyes of hers full of compassion and care?
Her ways are mysterious to those who haven’t experienced the path she’s taken.
Her voice is comforting to my soul…
Her touch is soothing to my weary head…

Who is this paragon of beauty?
She is my mother…
She, the fairest of a million to my soul
From her I have my being.
The most honorable of all living beings in my universe is she …

In my darkest hour
In my deepest despair
She is there…
In my trials and tribulations…
Through my frustration and doubts…
In my violence and turbulence…
Amid my anguish and pain…
In my joy and sorrow…
Through my failures and triumphs…
She still loves, loves, loves…
And keep pointing me to the promise of a better tomorrow.

I thank God for you mother…
Thank you mother for being you…
Thank God for mothers.

Happy Mothers Day!!!

It is mothers day!!!
Happy Mothers Day!
As the saying goes “There is no one like motherâ€?
Have you ever tried to imagine a world without mothers
Such world would be cold, dreary and devoid of love…

hmm… how could this be?
Have you ever taken the time to really observe a mother’s love…
It is one of the greatest mystery that transcends and defies logic.
Her tender loving kindness…
Her ability to understand intricate emotional needs
She is unique in her understanding of pain and joy.
Hence she can share your pains and joys like no one else can
She sees and noticed the little things that others misses
She is that precious jewel that binds the society together…
for without her, civilization as we know it would seize to be

The truth is her strength defies logic. word fails when describing her…
Dare I describe something that is indescribable…
All I can sincerely say is…
Thank you mother.
Thank God for mothers.
Even this I sense isn’t good enough…
But… what more can I say…

The Bosom of Change

I’ve been here for a while now
Am I standing or floating, I’m not quite sure
Floating in what ?
Floating in the bosom of change.

I dared to look change straight in the face
In my trying to embrace it, It engulfed me…
I can feel it, I can sense it all around me and within me
Though my eyes are open, what I see I’m not quite sure I understood
My reasoning seems to be failing me, not because logic is loosing its ground, but I perceive this change has lots of transcendency within it, keeping to themselves the mysteries they bring along.

In the silence of my tangled thoughts,
I can sense the one behind all changes…
The one to whom all things are subjected
bids me to relax and follow for with Him lies the answer
Here I wait and watch the mystery unfolding.

Common Sense

Oh great maker!
At times I feel like I don’t understand anything anymore…
Of-course this is a subjective notion… I know.
Objectively, a lack of comprehensive understand of a subject or phenomenon could induce this feeling, I beg the differ in this case.

This is my dilemma…
Ours is a society overloaded with information but devoid of common sense, the culprit of this societal malady I must say at the risk of offending many is “Political correctnessâ€?. We may delude ourselves into thinking that we are civilized, we may dream of civilization all we want and pretend to be sophisticated. Till we learn to face the factual objective truth of life, our dream of a peaceful civilized society would remain nothing but a dream.

I’ve heard a lot about the civilized society, but I’m still yet to see one.
If by any chance you find one please let me know. But please not one created by political correctness, for that is nothing but a mirage…

My Hero

I felt a tap from behind me, I turned around and there he was,
with wide open eyes and broad bright smile. I couldn’t help but pick him up.
he looked at me and said I have a present for you. It was his picture.
oh, that cute radiant smiling face of his.

Is this for me?
Yes it is, I want you to have it.
The sincerity and innocency with which he says that, stroked a cord in my heart.

You see he is my hero….
He is only five years old but possess the quality of being innocent, and genuine.
These are scarce qualities in the sophisticated life we’ve created for our self.

Children…. We think them to be the weakest among us.
I beg the differ, they are the strongest among us, for they see no need to
mask their true identity from themselves or their observers.
In attempt to project a certain kind of image to our observer, we’ve grown so accustom to wearing mask over our true self, that we’ve even lost track of who we really are. What a weak and superficial adult world we’ve plunged ourselves into.

Intellectual superiority, spiritual growth, riches and technological know how are all good, but seeing the world through a child like eye is priceless.

They remind me of who I am and I learn from them.

Where are the thinkers?

Where are the great minds? What has befallen the modern thinkers?
How come I can hear lot of noise, talking and babbling but no coherent thoughts or rational statement that corresponds to reality are being said?

The intellectuals who are supposed to be more rational are even worst. Our academic institutes are home to people who have studied themselves to imbecility. They are always learning but never arrive at the knowledge of what they are learning. They can memories or take in lot of information just like any computer can do, but they hardly take the time to reason that information through. Hence they come up with theories upon theories that does not corresponds to reality

The religious group are not without fault in this. Many of them distrust thinking, they don’t like to entertain questions that deals with their faith. How can some one not want reasons for what they believe… It is better to debate a question before settling it than to settle a question before debating it. Faith without reason is no faith but credulity.

So the question resounds…
Where are the thinkers?…

Come and let us reason together…
